This was made as a request by an Anon on Formspring.
It was made in 20 minutes so excuse the imperfections.
I will be fixing the bottom seam/cutline later [busy atm]
Hope you like my dress reconstruction.
It’s not a tutorial really, just an example of what I do.
I bought this [LOOK AT BEFORE PIC] for 25cents at the swapmeet about a year and a half ago. I knew exactly what I was going to do with it right when I paid for it.
I never got around to doing it but an Anon asked for pics of what kind of things I do when I buy and reconstruct old ugly clothes. I always try to make it LESS ugly. This isn’t my best example because I usually don’t reconstruct on clothes like this.
My reconstructions usually involve tightening the fit/making new hems for length. Or adding lace/bows. I thought this was a good example of something very very simple anyone can do to something they have laying around the house.
Didn’t even use garment scissors, just found my paper ones and started going. I took a pic of me wearing it before but it somehow got lost when I was transferring images to my macbook [i was deleting old ones on the same memory card].
Again, thanks for the request anon! Gave me something to do for a little while. I will post pics of all my other stuff later! maybe…
Also, i totally love the spontaneous bow I made with the scaps hahaha. I’m such a little girl!
Anyway hope you guys like it, just proves you shouldn’t throw anything away if it still has hope! No matter how ugly it appears to be! I called it my ugly duckling dress before! But I always knew exactly what it could be! :) ahaha <333
